At first I had no idea how to give direction, and I even failed by sending long Slack messages. But within two months I got the hang of it. That was unexpectedly fun, and as a byproduct I can now say in career conversations that I 'worked alongside global talent.'
Our Story — The name and philosophy
A business that enriches both Japan and Cambodia
Meaning 1 — Once more, again
That "encore": the applause asking to hear it one more time on stage. In business it becomes the voice that says, "I want to work with this team again."
Create encounters where you think, "I want to work with this Cambodian engineer again."That single thing is the entire essence of the service.
Meaning 2 — Cambodia's pride
The World Heritage site Angkor Wat is the very pride of the Cambodian people. The sound of "Angkor" carries Cambodia's history and talent.
A young Cambodian hears "encore" (once more) from a Japanese engineer. The moment where the two cultures meet is etched into the name.
Angkor Byte, with a hybrid Japanese-CEO / Cambodian-CTO structure, has built co-creation teams across both countries, not mere offshoring. Encore × Angkor opens that philosophy up to individual engineers.
We give part of our profits back to founding primary schools, building wells in Cambodia, and bringing Cambodian students to Japan.
Use of proceeds
We return part of our revenue to the following.
Founding primary schools
Improving access to education in rural Cambodia.
The wells project
Securing access to clean, sanitary water.
Bringing Cambodian students to Japan
Creating chances to meet your contracted engineer in Japan: support that directly nurtures the bond between the two countries.
Our Promise
"I want to work with that Cambodian engineer again."
Creating encounters where an engineer genuinely feels that way. That is everything this service is about.
